Methacrylate embolism after percutaneous vertebroplasty. Can we improve patient safety?
Abstract
A case of pulmonary embolism is presented after vertebroplasty, performed for a vertebral fracture due to osteoporosis. Embolism was confirmed by complementary methods. Attention to respiratory symptoms and a chest x-ray after vertobroplasty are suggested in order to improve patient safety after the procedure.References
