Aenurysms of the pulmonaru arteries in relation to Hughes Stovin syndrome
Abstract
Hughes Stovin syndrome is characterized by small and big vessels vasculitis, more commonly presented in young men. Initially it manifests with thrombophlebitis and aneurysms which can cause fatal bleed due to rupture. Some authors consider Hughes Stovin syndrome as a variant of Behcet's disease. Diagnosis is made by clinical findings and the first line treatment are corticosteroids and cyclophosphamide. Anticoagulation is controversial due to the increased risk of hemorrhage.References
